Mingo joined Sunvair in late 2020, bringing 20 years of experience and world-class expertise in landing gear systems to the Sunvair family. Mingo began operating in 2000 as a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining and sheet metal fabrication facility focused on commercial and defense work. In 2005, Mingo obtained its FAA Repair Station Certificate, shifting its focus to cargo loading system component repairs. Over the next several years, it grew by providing repairs and selling spare parts to commercial airline customers. In 2011, it expanded to two buildings and upgraded its Material Resource Planning (MRP) platform to Quantum.
In 2015, Mingo added High-Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) thermal spray and precision grinding to its capabilities, and in 2016, its plating facility supported thermal spray repairs. In 2017, Mingo moved to a new facility, and in 2018, it repaired its first articles for 787, 77F, and 747-8.
After its acquisition, by Sunvair, Mingo’s facilities and team were integrated into Sunvair’s Tulsa operations. Today, Sunvair Tulsa serves as a global center of excellence in thermal spray and grinding for spherical landing gear components and flight control components, focusing on the 737, 777, and military airframes, with US Air Force, Bell Helicopter, and National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) accreditations.
