Avionics Inspector - Quality

Location: Owasso, OK

Position Summary

The Avionics Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections, testing, and verification of avionics components, assemblies, and systems in compliance with FAA Part 145 Repair Station, EASA, AS9100 and any customer requirements. This role ensures that all work performed meets regulatory, customer, and company standards for safety, reliability, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on avionics components and instruments to ensure compliance with approved data, technical manuals, drawings, and specifications.
  • Verify repairs, modifications, and overhauls are performed in accordance with FAA, EASA, and OEM requirements.
  • Document inspection results in accordance with FAA Part 145 Repair Station procedures, company manuals, and AS9100 standards.
  • Review work orders, service tags, engineering documents, and certifications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure traceability of parts and materials in accordance with regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Conduct functional tests and calibration of avionics instruments and components using approved test equipment.
  • Identify and document nonconformities; coordinate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Production for corrective actions.
  • Support internal and external audits related to FAA, EASA, AS9100, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of avionics inspection experience in a Part 145 Repair Station or aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAA Repair Station regulations, EASA Part 145, and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, service bulletins, and maintenance manuals.
  • Experience with precision measurement tools, calibration, and functional testing of avionics equipment.
  • Proficient in documentation control, traceability, and quality records management.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with technicians, engineers, and auditors.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with electronic testing equipment and troubleshooting avionics components.
  • Prior experience supporting FAA/EASA audits a plus

Work Environment

  • Full-time position, primarily onsite at Owasso, OK facility.
  • May require occasional overtime and flexible scheduling to meet customer deadlines.

Work performed in inspection areas and labs with strict adherence to safety protocols.
